Class descriptions

All classes are 45 minutes except Ballet Technique classes (meaning there is no recital dance just strictly technique).




Ballet is the backbone and core for all styles of dance.  Ballet is a highly technical form of dance that is done through learning basic positions. Students will learn proper French terminology, choreography, Barre work and more. Ballet can begin as early as 6 years old.

Required Attire: Pink tights,ballet shoes, ballet leotard (correct for their level please ask staff to assist), clean neat bun in hair, Ballet skirt is optional

Dancing on Pointe is the act of standing on the tips of the toes while performing.  Pointe work is performed using hard–toed and stiff-shanked Pointe shoes. Dancing on Pointe requires strength and skill, so prior permission from instructor is required before students begin taking Pointe classes. A minimum of two ballet classes are required along with Pointe class.

Required Attire: Pink tights, Pointe shoes, ballet leotard (correct for their level please ask staff to assist), clean neat bun in hair, ballet skirt is optional

This class is dedicated to teaching Pointe fundamentals to students 11 years old or older that demonstrate the ability to be on Pointe.  The class focuses on leg (straightness and strength), feet (flexibility, strength, alignment, and shape), ankles (strength and straightness), and overall body alignment.

Required attire: Pink tights, ballet shoes, ballet leotard (correct for their level please ask staff to assist), clean neat bun in hair, Ballet skirt is optional



Jazz combines techniques of classical ballet and modern dance with the current forms of popular dance. Jazz also has its own movement vocabulary ranging from the isolation of certain body parts to the movement of the entire body with the accents of musical rhythms. There are many styles of Jazz, including Street Jazz, Percussive and Broadway Jazz. Classes can be patterned in any of these styles or a combination of them. Emphasis is on the importance of energy, rhythmical accuracy, and style. Jazz classes begin at age 6.

Required attire: Tan Jazz shoes, tan tights, any dancewear and hair in a ponytail or bun




This is a class based on creating rhythms with not only your body but with your feet. Tap shoes are required to insure the student is learning their best.

Required attire: Tap Shoes (different depending on age) , tan tights, any dancewear and hair in a ponytail or bun




Hip Hop

Hip Hop is a combination of many style of movement including locking, floor work, isolations and more.  Hip Hop is a great way to get energy out while using your expression and passion for dance.

Required attire: Sneakers, any dancewear (pants and knee pads recommended for floor work)

Creative movement

This class introduces a structured environment while allowing children to recognize their own individuality and body mobility. Focus is on coordination and rhythm and music introduced in creative and innovative ways. This keeps students entertained while learning beginning dance skills will help

them to acquire a lifelong love for dance. This class is offered for ages 4-5 and 5-6.

Required attire: Convertible tights, any dancewear

Combo class

There are 2 types of combo classes. Ballet/Jazz combo and Ballet/Tap combo, both are offered to 4-5 and 5-6 year olds. Ballet/Tap is offered for 3-4 year olds. The classes start with ballet and finish with either jazz or tap. Depending on which combo class you choose, that will decide which type of dance the student will perform in the recital.

Required attire: Pink tights, Tap shoes, ballet shoes, and Jazz shoes (depending on the class) any dancewear





This style is a combination of ballet technique, Jazz and Modern. Lyrical

is used to tell a story utilizing choreography and music. This class begins at age 8.

Required attire: Pink or tan convertible tights, lyrical shoes, any dancewear


Contemporary is a high level class that requires you to take at least two ballet classes.  It involves an integrate style of movement while combining ballet and various traditional disciplines of modern dance foundations. These classes are for dancers who like physical complicated floor work, patterns of movement and self-expression. Elements of improvisation are also incorporated.

Required attire:  any dancewear, lyrical shoes




Acro is a combination of gymnastics, contortion and dance. It involves tumbling as well as flexibility training. This class works on many skills and they get more complex as the levels increase. This class is offered to ages 7 and up there is also a Pre-Acro class for ages 6-7.
