Kelsay's Story
Kelsay started her dance career at a very young age. She is very well rounded and trained in Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Pointe, Musical Theater, Hip-Hop and Improv. At the Age of 10 she performed for Disney with 42nd street star Beth Level. She has received numerous scholarships She started teaching at the age of 16 and from there discovered her love for choreography. She also trained at the University of the Arts summer intensive programs.
Kelsay started college at Stockton University in 2009 where she decided to major in Public Health and minor in dance because of her love to help people. There, she was the president of the dance team and performed in many dance concerts. She trained in Modern, Ballet, Jazz and Tap. She was a soloist for Lauren Putty and also was chosen to work with Jai Hoon Lim and Henry Van Kuiken on new dance works. She also was chosen to perform at the American College Dance Festival in 2012.
She knew she had a love for children so she obtained her B.S. in Public Health with a minor in dance and became an Alcohol and Drug Prevention Specialist, working with kids from ages 6 to 19. She truly loves helping others and is making it her life’s work to continue creating positive relationships, instilling great morals, and teaching life skills.
Kelsay’s choreography has won many choreography awards, multiple overall high score awards as well as special awards and title winners at many different competitions. She is thrilled to be able to expand on her knowledge and learn from each and every student.
Kelsay decided to open Trademark Dance Academy in 2016. Since then she has expanded her knowledge of dance taking many workshops and training to broaden her teaching abilities. Not only is she trained on the performance side of things, but now she is well versed in the competition administration, costuming and much more. She is trained in the acrobatics arts program. She also attended multiple trainings to continue to expand her knowledge learning from long time leaders in the field. Kelsay is currently not only the owner of Trademark Dance Academy but the director, creating fully trained dancers that are capable and working in the field. Trademark Dance Academy in a short number of years has exceeded expectations with their company members and they continue to grow and expand into new and exciting things.
